Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Private Practice

Shorewood Psychology in Madison, Wisconsin

Shorewood Psychology is pleased to announce a new post-doctoral experience in a boutique private practice in Madison, Wisconsin! This is an excellent opportunity for a scholar-practitioner with a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in counseling or clinical psychology to receive training and supervision towards licensure in the state of Wisconsin while learning to build a private practice. We offer expert clinical supervision, support in developing confidence in your professional identity as a psychologist and business management skills. Our goal is that by the end of the post-doctoral fellowship you will possess tools towards building and maintaining a successful private practice.

We provide psychotherapy to adults, couples and adult families. We conduct traditional psychological assessments as well as from a collaborative/therapeutic model. We work to provide a culturally sensitive, compassionate and social justice minded space.

Training: We offer an opportunity to learn about how to operate a private psychotherapy and assessment practice. The majority of training will be in conducting psychotherapy with adults and couples. There is some opportunity to administer personality assessments to help inform therapy or in response to outside referrals. There is also a possible opportunity to work one day per week with older adults conducting therapy and assessment in a nursing home setting.

Supervisors offer training in treating anxiety disorders, trauma, depression, adjustment and life transition, relationship challenges, identity development, etc. utilizing approaches that include psychodynamic, interpersonal, humanistic, narrative and feminist approaches and techniques including EMDR, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness and ACT.

Supervisors: Elizabeth H.
